Others save with fear, pulling them out of

the fire (Jude 1:23)

As we take note of the hundreds of thousands of people who have died of Covid- 19, it should concern us that the majority are lost. What can we do to make a difference?

Reach

We can make a difference by first building ourselves in the faith and improving our prayer life -Jude 1:20 21. Very early in his ministry, Jesus told his disciples to live in such a way that people could see our good works and thereby, come to glorify God -Matthew 5:16, 1Peter 3:1. We will never be able to count the thousands of lives touched even after we are gone -Hebrews 11:4.

Search

However, our influence is not enough, Jude says our compassion makes a difference - Jude 1:22. A love for the lost will compel us to search diligently, as the shepherd seeks out his lost sheep or a woman searches for a missing coin -Luke 15:1-10. Expressing love to the lost is expressing love to the Lord - Matthew 25:31-46.

Teach

Jude also encourages us to save others with fear, pulling them out of the fire -Jude 1:23. Paul was flexible in his attempt to save both Jews and Gentiles -1Corinthians 9:19-22. He was sold on the Great Commission which includes teaching the world, baptizing believer and teaching all to observe all that Jesus taught -Matthew 28:18-20, Mark 16:16.

Beseech

A part of preaching the gospel is explaining the effects of sin -Jude 1:23. On the day of Pentecost, Peter not only spoke of repentance and baptism, but with many other words encouraged his audience to save themselves from this crooked generation - Acts 2:41. Knowing the terror of God, let us persuade men -2Corinthians 5:10 11.
